- Explore Illustrator: Get familiar with the workspace and find the tools you’ll use most often.
- Create with shapes: Draw, resize, combine, and arrange simple shapes.
- Add colour: Experiment with fills, strokes, and colour choices.
- Try the Pen Tool: Learn the basics of drawing custom shapes and lines.
- Make a simple graphic: Put your new skills together to create a graphic featuring an object of your choice.
No previous Illustrator or graphic design experience is required. Just bring your curiosity and an idea for something simple you’d like to create!
The DME Lab has high-performance PCs with the latest version of Adobe Illustrator installed, so you can use one of our computers during the workshop.
If you are in a TMU program that provides you with an Adobe Creative Cloud license and would prefer to use your own laptop:
- Install Adobe Illustrator before the workshop.
- Sign in using the Adobe Creative Cloud account provided through your program.
