Stats Chat: Data Extraction and Analysis with R/RStudio

Stats Chat: Data Extraction and Analysis with R/RStudio In-Person

Wondering how to get data into R and start making sense of it? This introductory, interactive workshop is designed for beginners who want to learn the essentials of data extraction, retrieval, and basic analysis using R and RStudio.

We’ll cover common ways to bring data into R—from files like CSVs and spreadsheets to simple online sources—and show you how to explore and understand what you’ve imported. You’ll learn how to ask basic analytical questions of your data and calculate simple summaries.

This session is highly hands-on and paced for newcomers. You’ll follow along in RStudio, experiment with real examples, and build confidence navigating R’s tools for analysis. No prior experience is required.
