Stats Chat: Getting started with R and RStudio In-Person
New to R and not sure how to get started? This introductory, hands-on workshop is designed for beginners who want a gentle orientation to R and RStudio before diving into coding and data analysis.
We’ll focus on helping you get comfortable with the RStudio environment—starting projects, installing and loading packages, and saving and organizing your work. You’ll learn how R and RStudio fit into a typical data workflow and what to expect as you continue learning R.
Just as importantly, we’ll explore how to make use of R’s rich documentation and vibrant user community, including strategies for finding help and reliable answers online. This session is highly interactive, requires no prior programming experience, and is designed to help you build confidence as you begin your R learning journey.
Stats Chat is a weekly workshop series that dives into data and statistical learning every Thursday afternoon at 2pm. New to quantitative research or looking to level up your data skills? Join us at the Geospatial Map and Data Centre at the main floor of the TMU Library!
