TMU Libraries’ Digital Media Experience (DME) Lab and the Sustainability Office invite, students, faculty and staff are invited to attend this garment mending and repair workshop. 

Supported by our team of sewists and menders, bring your damaged or broken clothing items to the Garmet Mending Workshop and give them a second life by learning how to repair them yourself! Not only will you be saving money and gaining practical, hands-on repair skills, you’ll also be reducing waste and helping TMU achieve its goal of becoming a zero-waste campus by 2035.

What to expect

• Hands-on DIY garment repair stations: Have a garment that's been gathering dust or a bag that's seen better days? Bring them in! Our skilled fixers will guide you through the repair process, helping you revive your items and reduce waste.
• Community connections: Meet and mingle with fellow students, faculty and staff who are passionate about innovative sustainability initiatives and programming.

What items can you repair at the workshop?

Our team of experts will teach you how to mend your garment. Our resources are best suited to simple fixes, so more complex repairs like zippers and intricate fabric patterns may require a series of visits.
