Podcasting Workflow Basics

Podcasting Workflow Basics In-Person

The TMU Libraries’ Media Production Studio is a beginner-friendly recording space available to all TMU students, faculty and staff. Whether you're starting a personal podcast, recording interviews for a class, or exploring audio storytelling, this studio’s podcast training program, supported by the DME Lab staff, will help you get your podcast started.

At this hands-on introduction workshop, DME staff will guide you through the key stages of podcast production, including basic equipment setup, recording, editing, and publishing. You’ll get a chance to explore the studio’s audio equipment and software tools while learning basic podcasting practices.

By the end of this session, you'll be able to:

Understand the full podcasting workflow, from planning to publishing.

Operate microphones, mixers, and recording interfaces used in the studio.

Set proper recording levels and manage sound quality.

Edit audio using beginner-friendly software.

Learn the steps to book the studio for your own podcasting projects.

The studio is located in SLC 508, but we will meet first at the SLC 308 front desk.
