Legal Research Drop in Workshops In-Person
This series of drop workshops on legal research will provide students with quick refreshers, overviews, and top tips for becoming a better researcher. All workshops are short (10 minutes!) and on popular topics. Registration is not required but will guarantee you a spot.
January 24th: Advanced Searching in Google & Google Scholar
Learn tips for making your google searches faster and more effective. Learn how to connect Google Scholar to your TMU credentials to obtain access to the full text of articles.
January 31st: Advanced Search Strategies
Find advanced searching confusing? This workshop will cover the basics of how to conduct advanced searchers, a critical skill for being more precise and comprehensive in your research.
February 7th: Article Searching on HeinOnline
A highly useful database for finding law journal articles, this workshop will cover the tools available in HeinOnline and research skills for creating an effective search
February 14th: Current Awareness: News and Alerts
Want to stay on top of how the law is changing? This workshop will cover news and current awareness resources as well as how to set up alerts for areas of interest
February 21st: The Most Common Citation Mistakes
February 28th: Why should you be an RA? This event has been updated and is now being offered as a one hour panel discussion in collaboration between the Law Library and the Career Development and Professional Placement Office.
This session covers the benefits that can arise from becoming a research assistant. Learn and hear from faculty and students about this exciting work opportunity. This event is a collaboration between the Law Library and the Career Development and Professional Placement Office.
