In this intermediate workshop, attendees will learn the advanced features of Bambu Studio and prepare them for printing with the DME's Bambu X1C printers. These features include support painting, filament selection, printing multiple objects in a single booking, organic supports, seam painting, text embossing, and advanced print options.

Important Notice: This intermediate workshop build on your Bambu Level 1 certification. If you haven't already, please attend this foundational workshop.

From 3D Printing to Studio recording spaces to Arduino and electronics, TMU Libraries' Digital Media Experience Lab has your creation needs covered. At this interactive tour, DME staff will orient your through our SLC 308 lab space, our workshop offerings, and how to book lab equipment. Noteworthy stops on the tour will be our:

  1. Textiles & sewing area.
  2. Glowforge laser cutter.
  3. 3D printing area.
  4. High performance media editing computers.
  5. Cricut vinyl cutter.
  6. Soldering & electronics workstations.
  7. Review of SLC 508 Media Creation Studio (if it's booked we'll show you the equipment types!)
  8. Review of audio / video camera equipment from the Library lending program.

Guests will leave this session with an understanding of what types of projects and training supports are possible at the SLC 308 DME lab.

Description:

Explore how to use beginner-friendly Photoshop techniques needed to edit a simple picture into a memorable work of art!We'll train you on how to make use of the move tools, eyedropper, lasso, airbrush, and related tools in this Digital Media Experience Lab training session. Brighten, darken, or even colour code your photo with just a few steps, from the layers to the properties bar in the app!

Use our computers or bring a laptop if you already have Photoshop provided through your program. If you are using our Photoshop workstations, you'll need to login to the Adobe Cloud using your TMU Google Account.

By the end of this informal session, you'll be able to use essential photo editing features in this industry-standard tool.

Wishing you knew how to crochet but YouTube tutorials aren’t doing the trick? Come to the DME for a workshop to break into the basics of crochet! In this workshop you will learn how to do four basic stitches, and you’ll bring home a little sample with you. This workshop will provide you with the fundamentals needed to break into any crochet project and pursue your crochet dreams!

 

Workshop Overview:

This workshop is led by an expert crocheter with years of experience, who will be happy to assist you at any stage of your crochet journey! Skills learned in this workshop include:

  • Learn how to chain, single crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet
  • Learn how to adjust and maintain yarn tension 
  • Learn how to work stitches flat (square or rectangle)
